Anastoechus

While out walking yesterday, I came across what I thought was some kind of fuzzy bee. I was both wrong and right. It's a bee fly!

Not much is known about the bee fly other than it is an important pollinator, especially in desert areas. They lay eggs that are predatory or parasitic. I got this information from wikipedia because I thought it was a bee.

There is always something interesting to see when you aren't on your couch. Get out there!
