Resilient

So there's this particular picture that is causing a bit of a stir online. Granted it could be fake, but from what I'm reading online it seems to be an actual thing.

For a second I thought it was a helicopter, I must confess. But at a closer look, I realized I should carry my reading glasses with me.

A gator, a freaking gator showing us that he is a resilient little predator. It seems to be lodged in his skull, between the eyes, but he's alive and well it seems.

Which reminded me of the fact that a gator's immune system is remarkable, since an open wound like that would surely be our demise rather quickly.

It certainly got my attention, but I don't really believe any photo or video I see anymore. Loss of innocence, I guess. However you did get me looking up the survivability of gators. Turns out this family of animals, crocodylians, have been around in some form for 205 million years. That's even harder to get my mind around than the photo :)

So that's where I left my good knife.

is it made in China?

Mongolia.

I don't want to judge the guy who stuck the knife in... could have been a fight than just pranking around.

An interesting photo @meno and just amazing how this predator can live with a knife in your head!

They've been around for a few million years for a reason...
