July's hot summer day hike with a Winter surprise (SNOW)

in nature •  7 years ago

On July 15th we were heading up North from Vancouver towards Whistler and on a whim we decided to go for a hike in the Squamish area. Elfin Lakes sounded like an awesome place to kill half a day. Once off the highway it was 10km before we got to the parking lot half way up the mountain. The Ranger warned us about a local bear, but we didn't see him....would have been more worried about a mom and her cubs.

Well the half day turned out to be 12hrs door to door and a wicked sun burn to remind us of the adventure. Not to mention the 22km of muscle fatigue.

Enjoy a few photos of our journey up the mountain. So much for Global Warming!
