Manfaat Gadung



Di Aceh, boh Janeng sering digunakan sebagai bahan makanan pokok cadangan. Kala Aceh masih terjadi perang banyak masyarakat di pedesaan mengolah umbi janeng. Ini sangat lezat. Namun jika salah dalam cara mengolahnya, ini berakibat fatal, karena umbi janeng juga beracun.

Tumbuhan yang nama latinnya  Dioscorea hispida  merupakan tumbuhan yang berduri  merambat dan memanjat, panjang mencapai 5–20 m. Arah rambatannya selalu berputar ke kiri (melawan arah jarum jam, jika dilihat dari atas).
