10 years of tsunami. Our first trip was to Masjid Raya Baiturrahman. This mosque became a symbol of Banda Aceh since the tsunami 10 years ago.
When the surrounding buildings were destroyed, the mosque was still firmly standing. Seeing the mosque and entering it, as if to turn back the time machine at the time of December 26, 2004, where the Baiturrahaman Mosque is still elegant standing despite being hit by waves.
While in Banda Aceh we also visited the Tsunami Museum and the PLTD Apung ship that was stranded during the tsunami. Honestly, when I entered the museum by Mr. Ridwan Kamil I was really stunned by the architecture.
The shape resembles a ship, as the philosophy that some people of Banda Aceh are fishermen. In it there are various photographs, miniatures of tsunami waves, videos during the tsunami, the rise of the Acehnese people, the household appliances, the timing that indicates the occurrence of the tsunami and the names of tsunami victims.
There is an oval-shaped place to the top where there are names of tsunami victims. The names of the victims are written like the license plate of the vehicle. Keep going upstairs, at the top there is Allah's writing. Inside the room was played by the voice of Acehnese people.
Besides Banda Aceh, we also went to Sabang. Arriving at Sabang, we immediately snorkel. After snorkeling, we go to Kilometer Zero Monument. This is Banda Aceh and Sabang, with all the charms and stories that really make it easy for anyone to forget.
