Stunning views of the Siskiyou Mountains from the Mount Isabelle trail

Mount Isabelle is a part of southern Oregon's Siskiyou Mountain range. Located in the Applegate Valley, it is 4,494 feet (1,370 m) tall. The mountain is on BLM land and is open to the public year round. One can ascend this peak rather quickly, as the trail to the summit is just over a mile long. However, this hike isn't easy; 950 feet (290 m) of elevation is gained within that short distance. Still, the payoff becomes abundantly clear almost immediately. As the trail climbs higher, breathtaking views can be found in every direction.

From the summit are uniquely enthralling perspectives of Mount Isabelle's neighboring peaks. This trail is an ideal choice for a quick day hike. It provides a good calf muscle workout and isn't particularly time consuming. Not to mention the sights are some of the most captivating that I've personally seen while hiking in southern Oregon.
