What kind of Rock is this??

in nature •  7 years ago

During the past summer my kid nephew shows me a bag of rocks he has collected. One caught my eye out of the bunch that I thought is quite unique! I was able to easily find the actual names of the other rocks he had, but not this one...

Looks like pyrite.

Yeah on the outer ring it does, but the pictures of pyrite I'm seeing on google don't show it on a rock.

If you Google it you only get to see the most beautiful one. Just Google Pyrite on limestone. And this rock has been lying in the water for a while to. That's why its so smooth.

It's a rock? Looks like something melted.

hey there ! nice one ... pyrite inside like we all see but not only . where is pyrite there is gold ,its been in water thats what it looks like but , then is to sharp on places . i dont think is meteorit or whatever that has been burning on a high temp ... yet this is only what i think and that doesnt mean is true . i belive if you crush it and clean it you will find some gold parts and more because it has grean and blue colors , or if you have it in vineggar then some will dissapear and you will find more about it . yet you can just keep it as a piece of natural art and wonder ! what you think is best for imagination ? ;) be blessed !
