On Top of the World

There is a trail that takes you through a long and abandoned train tunnel in the town I used to live in. As you reach the middle it becomes so dark your senses warp and it's hard to calibrate your movements. The only thing you can see is the small light at the end that continues to grow larger as you approach it. At the very top of the path there are large water pipes. Unless there has been rainfall you will usually find them dry. They open up to a beautiful view of the valley below. Not a lot of people know about this spot and the numerous times I have taken this journey to this viewpoint has left me in awe. I find so much comfort in the silent sounds of nature.

This is such a playful shot, I love the energy it gives! And what a luck to have discovered a spot like this, mesmerising! :)
p.s. impressive handstand skills, I've never mastered it myself. :D

@lostinhappiness Thanks! I'm glad to have been shown this spot so many years ago. My handstands were also at their best at this time! They are still a work in progress but a heap of fun. ❤️

Wonderful photo, Sarah! I’m dreaming about warmer weather since it is -12 where I live ;d

Hi @laurakaleja! Welcome to Steemit! I just checked out your intro post and noticed you are a friend of @art.life. So nice to have you here and I am glad you have found a place you can share all your passions. -12 doesn't sound too appealing although right now the weather is wet and humid for me 😣 I see you'll be sharing your travel posts. I'm following you as I'd love to see what you share!
