Proposed oil terminal in Plaquemines Parish could disrupt Louisiana's $2B wetlands project

Modeling completed in February 2020 suggested the construction of the $2.5 billion terminal's dock could reduce the amount of sand entering the mouth of the state's planned Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion by up to 15%.

Interesting article about the never ending battle between big business and the environment. Of all the places to put an oil terminal, right next to the State's biggest fresh water diversion does not seem like the best idea. And the sad part is that there are plently of spots up and down the river that would work for the company, it's just got to be a matter of the company wanting to spend the least amount of money it can. And I get that, it's smart, it's what seperates the successful businesses from the not. But sometimes business has to work for the greater good, and I believe that this is one of those times. This is one of those ongoing stories that is still being written, I'll be curious to see how this one plays out.....
