Exploring the macro world in the first snow of this autumn😄

On Sunday a little bit of snow fell here in Lower Austria and I went for a night walk to see if I can discover some of our little friends in this cold night. I walked for quite some time, but other than those three little insects I couldn't find anything. I saw some spider webs, but interestingly no spiders. However, I was happy to see already with the first snow a snow fly (Chionea)=> last picture.
Am Sonntag fiel etwas Schnee hier in Niederösterreich und ich machte einen Nachtspaziergang um zu sehen ob ich ein paar unserer kleinen Freunde in dieser kalten Nacht entdecken kann. Ich spazierte für eine ganze Weile, aber mehr als diese drei kleinen Insekten hab ich nicht gefunden. Ich sah zwar Spinnennetze, aber interessanterweise keine Spinnen. Ich war jedoch froh schon mit dem ersten Schnee eine Schneefliege (Chionea) zu entdecken => letztes Foto.

Wow! These really are quite amazing! I have never seen a snow fly in my life! And the snowflakes are so incredibly detailed.
It is like another whole world.
