I guess most of my followers already know that even in winter nights some arthropods are active. However, for me it is still often quite surprising what our little friends are capable of, because even when there are minus degrees some of them are actively moving around. This time though a few really seemed to be frozen, but I am pretty sure that as soon as it becomes a little bit warmer they will also move around again ;)
Ich schätze mal die meisten meiner Follower wissen jetzt schon, dass sogar in Winternächten ein paar Gliederfüßer aktiv sind. Für mich ist es jedoch immer wieder recht überraschend zu was unsere kleinen Freunde fähig sind, denn selbst wenn es Minus Grade hat bewegen sich manche aktiv herum. Dieses mal jedoch schienen ein paar wirklich eingefroren zu sein, aber ich bin mir ziemlich sicher das sie sich, sobald es ein bisschen wärmer wird, auch wieder bewegen werden ;)

I guess there are many different strategies, but I know that some insects have anti freezing compounds like glycerine and some special anti freezing proteins ;)
