Golden penda or the Xanthostemon chrysanthus is a wonderful yard tree year-round. However, at this time of year, while in full flower, they are an absolute delight.
The beautiful yellow flower is attractive, especially to the beautiful Rainbow Lorikeets that comes to feast on the flower.
This picture was taken of the tree in my front yard in Cairns. The below pic of the Rainbow Lorikeet was not, but that is what they look like. I love them too, even when they are noisy. :)
