Trump Stops Ban on Plastic Bottles in National ParkssteemCreated with Sketch.

As on command after my post yesterday, I read today (from a month old article) that the US with President Trump stops a ban for national parks to sell bottled water in plastic bottles.

The law has been in effect since 2011 and has been removed after pressure from The International Bottled Water Association.

This law was a win-win for everyone, except maybe companies selling bottled water in plastic. There are so many other ways better than plastic.

Could this be because the new internal affairs minister, David Bernhardt, was once a lobbyist for the bottled water industry?

Plastics has been proven to be estrogenic and disturbs the hormonal balance in the human body, as well as all other animals. Plastic decades with usage and will end up in the body on usage, not just by contaminated water supply.

Be smart, think and do different.

It is not the ban on plastic bottles that matters but laws that punish people for littering should be implemented instead.

I'd agree if you could catch everyone for littering, but you can't, so I suppose it's more effective to prevent the plastic from being used.

If you remove a bad product, you don't need laws against littering the nature with them. People shouldn't litter anyway. They complain when the state tells them what to do and not, but they want the state to tell them nit to lotter, which is a natural thing NOT to do.

Yes oestrogen effects are worrying, plastic linings are in tin cans and some paper cartons too.

Trump administration doing great things. Thanks For SHARING....

WHY?

I don't see why this would be a good thing...

Glass bottles are far worse than plastic.

How so? Glass does not break down as plastic does and it's easily recyclable. Old glass is poured in to the mix of new glass, and takes far less energy than new glass.

I don't see your reasoning.

Glass does dot break until it does.
I have seen plenty of broken glass bottles.
After it breaks it lasts virtually for eternity, as opposed to plastic.
Glass is more often not recycled.

True, glass shatters when it's broken. But glass does not break down piece by piece as plastic does. It does not contaminate water sources, it does not float around in the ocean for animals to consume and later on by any of us.

If everyone recycled everything, we wouldn't have this issue.

Glass does also not release contaminated particles when it's heated or used, as plastic bottles, cups and mugs does.

Glass may not be a perfect alternative, but it's damn better than plastic. Besides, there are other alternatives as well.

There are so many other resources that can be used than just glass vs. plastic. There are so many things we haven't invented yet that may be even better than what we have here today, just giving it the necessary resources.

A start is to stop using the worst thing, then go for better alternatives...

It does break down piece by piece, because it does get hit or fall given enough time.
Or just collapses under pressure if buried, and its pieces break even easier.
Plastic may cause short term contamination, but then it is done with.
Glass particles last forever.
Glass is far worse than plastic.

Plastic does not cause short term contamination, far from. It breaks down in smaller and smaller fragments and may seem like it disappears, but takes thousands of years to break down.

But as said, glass may not be a good option either, I'm not saying its the solution either. But plastic is not the future to move forward to.

A bad move by the Trump administration, but IMO there are bigger things to worry about than this. But baby steps...

Can't see why this would be a GOOD thing really. Why do you think so?

Oh my bad, i have dyslexia. Read your post wrongly, just edited my comment lmaoooo

Haha 🤣👍

Just stupid. The ban should still be in place. Money in politics ruins everything.

By the way, I really appreciate the ongoing support on my posts. It means a lot.

C'mon Trump, just when I was starting to like you...
