Birdsfoot Trefoil, or (Lotus corniculatus). It enjoys sandy soils and is a generally hardy plant. You can find this introduced species all over southern Ontario. As a member of the Fabaceae, it is a legume and excels at enriching the soil with nitrogen fixed from the surrounding air.
