Daisy Plants to Blacken Hair

in nature •  8 years ago  (edited)

Daisy, sounds like the name of of a woman, much like a Hollywood actress, a Star Wars movie player. However, this is not a woman's name and artist. It is a plant name, we call it a "urang-aring", a kind of weed plants that thrive in slipshod lands.

This plant, which actually has a lot of benefits. And the most widely used are the benefits of this plant for black hair. I still remembered during a childhood, my grandmother always take these leaves and she grind it, then he wiped the sap of the leaves in her hair.

But now, many products are produced from these leaves sap, whether that locally product and nationally, and even internationally. This plant thrives in a my mother-in-law flower pot, happened when I pass by, I am interested to discuss about this plant in Steemit. So I took a picture.

In Latin, this plant is called Eclipta prostrata, I quoted from several sources of literacy, that this plant is very widely grown in the tropics. As in my place, Aceh.

This plant is often regarded as a weed, this plant is sometimes revoked and the waste, because it was growing together in a pot that full of flowers.

This plant also has a flower. The flowers will be green when young, and will be white when flowering.

This plant looks very lush. Before taking this daisy plants, I been took a few leaves and then I squeezed with my hands, I wait for a while, and I see the sap that sticking in my hands turned into black. No wonder, if these plants become to the raw materials for cosmetics, especially for blacken hair.

It is one of the cosmetic products for women's hair, I have seen on display at one of the supermarkets. This product was developed by Mustika Ratu, which is a home industries, they specialize in the production of herbal medicine and traditional cosmetics.

Sorry, I did not intend to advertise the product, but just for the sake of science only. Moreover, this is just a national product that is sold in the country. Steemian's. Of course there are many other benefits from the plant Eclipta prostrata (false daisy) is. Not just for the hair, but it could be to:

  • Strengthen and nourish eyebrows
  • Cooling the scalp
  • Etc
