Nesting Time For The Chickadee

in nature •  8 years ago  (edited)

I happened upon this Black Capped Chickadee flying into the knot of this tree. A mouth full of hair, busily building a nest while the female sat on a nearby branch to oversee the progress.

All I could do was sit down to enjoy the moment as the young birds prepared a nesting spot for their upcoming young ones. Being out in nature, just enjoying the day can offer the most amazing moments to experience.

Thank you for stopping by my post, I hope you enjoyed it.

Until next time, this is Sunscape...

chickadees are my favorite! great photos!

Mine too! They are so sweet and trusting. Thank you @gardenlady

They are fun to watch and make such neat nests. Thebirdhouse we have for them hasn't been used yet this year but last year it was used. Both sparrows and starlings have nests in the yard. Yesterday I heard the faint chipping of new born starlings, it makes me happy.

I love that the birds nest in my boxes too. I have them everywhere and we get sparrows, chickadee, house wrens and sometimes a pair of doves nest in my largest tree. The robins and blue jays are always nearby too. It is so fun to watch them all.

Hi @sunscape
Nice photos, as you say you can see the most amazing things when walking in nature, you must just keep your eyes open.
