Sowing with artificial agrochemicals // ecological imbalance

in nature •  7 years ago

Every day we find serious alterations within the ecosystem, caused by the excessive handling of agrochemical products of artificial synthesis; which are used in a system of conventional agriculture that has led to the unsustainability of the agricultural production system, which endangers the food security of many countries.

When carrying out cultural work in agriculture, we can see that it is possible to plant without the need to use these artificial chemicals, which cause so much damage to the environment and put our health at risk.

It is important to note that the producer frequently uses these chemicals due to ignorance and poor technical advice; since when the advice of a specialist in the matter is sought, several affirmations are usually made such as:

That fertilizers should be used to help soil recovery because they are impoverished and tired by previous harvests.
That pesticides and fungicides must be applied in order to control the bugs, since in the climate in which we live it is very hot and it is propitious for the multiplication of them.
However, the use of artificial synthetic agrochemicals brings with it a series of negative consequences and increased problems in crops.

Consequences for the use of artificial chemicals in crops:

  • When applying artificial chemicals in crops, the soil loses organisms that help the crop grow, it also loses the capacity to retain water and air, making it more compact.
  • The plantations undergo metabolic changes, it becomes more resistant to pests, the farmer having to change the chemical formula to counteract the bugs.

Likewise, the use of agrochemicals is detrimental to the human being, when handling them in the application in the sowings, and in the consumption of the food when the agricultural products are harvested.

Increase in plantation problems due to the use of artificial chemicals:

  • In each new crop the producer will increase the costs for the purchase of agrochemicals, since it will have to increase the quantity of the chemical used.

  • It should change and increase the amount of fungicide, insecticide and weed killers; since the pests will be stronger with respect to the weakness that the plants present, due to the use of said agrochemicals.
When using artificial chemical products, the farmer must be aware of the ecological impact that this practice incurs, understanding that the sustainability of future generations depends on this.
