Hello Steemian Friends,
How are you all? All well we hope! It's been a busy week so far for us with our own individual things to do etc, we are both already really looking forward to a day of rest!
Today is Wild Wednesday's!!! And Becca would like to share a video of some Gibbons. Becca remembered about the video of these cute guys that she took a few months ago at Khao Keaw Open Zoo (between Pattaya and Chonburi) just as we woke up this morning. We woke and ate breakfast to the sound of really loud but beautiful bird song, we think it was coming from a plot of land just down our street that has grown into a bit of a jungle. It was a really nice loud sound, we have no idea what type of bird it is. Sam mentioned that it "was as if there were a group of monkeys living just there"! Sam's comment reminded Becca of this time we went to the Open Zoo and the Gibbons started to make some noise between themselves.
Becca is not a fan of closed in caged enclosures in zoos, however at Khao Keaw Open Zoo, they at least provided the Gibbons with trees and open spaces so that they could actually swing from tree to tree. But we did notice that some other species of primates were in fact in caged environments, which is sad and we hope that one day they will be able to provide them more open engaging enclosures.
Stay Classy Steemians!

They are indeed! We were at this Open Zoo and just before we were about to take the car to the next section they started howling and so Becca had to take a video. We love to see them swinging around with their long arms! 🐒

You should! It's about two hours outside of Bangkok towards Pattaya. Its just after Chonburi. We found that some enclosure were poorly maintained and needed more care and space, so would give this place 3.5 out of 5. That's a generous review too.

Good to know! We've only been to a couple of national parks (where we saw gibbons too) and the Bangkok Zoo, which is actually pretty well done...

Ah really, heard from a few people including Sam's sister that the Bangkok Zoo (Dusit area) is quite small for the animals in there. But maybe it had refurbishment since she's been there.
All the national parks in Thailand are great, but it's a shame they charge a big difference for tourists. Which deters us going regularly.
