Cowpen Daisy with a cute little insect!

Cowpen Daisy, sometimes called golden crown beard or butter daisy, gets its name from its ability to easily sprout in disturbed areas–like the cowpen. Source

Cowpen Daisies are host plants for Bordered Patch Butterflies.
That means the female butterflies lay their eggs on these daisies.

That's interesting to hear, how they got their name @violetmed.

They look very pretty in your photographs, especially the top one with the soft background. 😊

Thank you @gillianpearce! Yes, I just looked that info up about the background on how they got that particular name!

howdy there violetmed! great photos again and that bottom one with the filter is really cool looking too!

@janton, seeing as how you live in the country, I wondered if you had heard of Cowpen Daisies?

howdy there violetmed! I think I've heard of them but I never paid any attention until I saw yours so now I will! lol.

Thank you for being here for me, so I can be here for you.
Enjoy your day and stay creative!
Botty loves you. <3

Lovely daisies and I like the filter. I gotta put it out there though...that cute insect looks like a mosquito to me ;) still cute but I'm just saying

Haha, well I'll go back outside tomorrow and see if I can spy some of those insects again. We have had a lot of mosquitoes in our yard after all of the rain we had about a 4 or 5 days ago!

Looking awesome flowers.
Azmazing click .
Yellow colour looking beautiful

I like these flowers, not only because of their color but also because they bring back beautiful memories, @violetmed! I remember when I was a little girl I would always bring those flowers to my mom when she came home from school. On the way there were many and I always put one in her hair. Look what you made me remember?! So many years. Thank you for those images!

Oh @nancybriti, I'm so happy these flowers made you remember something wonderful!

Beautifully captured mam. I love it

You are a very good photographer and your cell phone takes very good photographs. You see every detail of the flower and insects. Very beautiful images, beautiful lady.

Just the patch butterflies with edges? How interesting! There must be something specific about this flower that attracts them! I will investigate that data, @violetmed. Hugs

Yes, @nohebd, each butterfly has a specific plant (host plant) it must lay it's eggs on. Some butterflies have a couple of plants, trees or even grasses that they can lay their eggs on. When the caterpillars hatch out of their eggs, they begin eating the leaves that they are on. It is quite amazing that the butterflies know exactly which host plant to lay their eggs on!

Nature lover 😘

Those are nice pictures. In what USDA Zone do you live?

Zone 8a

Hermosas fotos, @violemet, gracias por compatirlas.

@violetmed Color so beautiful intense yellow. Butterflies with bordered patches must lay their eggs because the structure or shape of the flower is super comfortable and very cozy. It's amazing how we learn from this wonderful world of butterflies and flowers. I love this intense and cheerful color and the enchanting petals of the beautiful and elegant daisy flower. Your shot of it is super cute. A great greeting dear friend.

Beautiful photography
