Yellow Mushrooms

in nature •  6 years ago

After 3 straight days of lots of rain,
I spied these mushrooms today growing in a large pot with my gardenia.

I think they are quite pretty and I don't remember ever seeing yellow mushrooms growing in my yard!
Look at all of the cute baby ones coming up beside this larger mushroom!
Anyone know what these are called?

Have A Blessed Day!

Hello @violetmed! They are very cute, but it seems poisonous, if it is Leucocoprinus birnbaumii, which is a species of mushroom belonging to the family Agaricaceae, but I'm not sure it is. But, it is true that it is a gift in sight.

Oh, I'm sure they are poisonous, haha I definitely wasn't going to eat them! I only eat mushrooms from the grocery store! :) Thank you for the information.

what???? I've never seen any yellow mushrooms anywhere, those are beautiful! of course though, they're in your yard! lol.
unfortunately I am recharging my sp today but I wanted to show my support, God bless you!

Haha, yes yellow mushrooms fit right in with the colorful butterflies and flowers in my garden/yard!

yes Ma'am you are truly blessed!

I posted these last week. But they are different varieties it appears. I'm not sure what type yours are. I don't know much about identifying mushrooms. Sometimes I think it would be fun to learn enough to go foraging.

Those are pretty also! They are different from mine!

I was surprised to see yellow mushrooms also. Very pretty.

What a fun find @violetmed. Those top ones look a bit like draped cloth. Are the ones below the younger versions of them do you think? 😊

Yes the ones in the 2nd and 3rd photos are the younger versions! They both opened today!

Very unusual mushrooms, @violetmed !
In my opinion they are called Leucocoprinus birnbaumii

Belonovski Birnbaum do not eat, as it is inedible.
some also called belokamennoy Pilate.
They don't grow everywhere. They're California mushrooms.

They are beautiful and i think is because of the much rain that made them to start springing up.

So pretty! Love how the hats get wavy... like skirts :)

It is incredible the amount of species of mushrooms that exist, I still have not seen them personally. Thank you for sharing.
