MY GIRLS GREATEST CHALLENGE: ORDESA (Spanish Pyrenees)

☘️From Ordesa's meadow to Horse Tail Waterfall☘️

About a year ago I went with my girls to an excursion that I couldn't imagine we could finish before starting it. A route of about 17,5 km with more than 500m of slope and about 7 hours of hiking.

We started the route in Ordesa's meadow (1305 m) early in the morning and with a very pleasant temperature.

We found amazing and beautiful waterfalls all the way up

FIRST STOP -- 'CASCADA DEL ESTRECHO' -- PRIMERA PARADA

'Estrecho' waterfall, considered as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Spain, has got a 30 meters fall and it's located in a spectacular scenario.

Our second stop was in 'Gradas de Soaso', a series of linked waterfalls that drop, layer by layer, over the thick and compact layers of sandstone.

After climbing to the Gradas Waterfalls, and with the girls about to give up, we arrived to the floor of Soaso Valley, which had a very clear U-shaped form, typical of glacial valleys. Arriving here really was the worst part for the girls, they were really tired and they didn't believe us when we said 'We're almost there!!!'

HERE WE ARE!!!

THIRD STOP -- 'COLA DE CABALLO' (1755 m) -- TERCERA PARADA

'Cola de Caballo' waterfall, one of the most emblematic places in the National Park. The target set at the beginning of the route and achieved after hiking for ours.

🌍 One of the best experiences in my life. My girls demonstrated strength, perseverance and a huge respect to nature, taking all the garbage they found on the way up and putting it in a plastic bag they had in their backpacks.🌍

❤️ LOVE YOU GIRLS!!! ❤️

Thanks for your comment @jumowa!! :)

You guys are having so much fun! Your daughters are gorgeous. Gosh I cant wait to have children someday :)

Thanks for your comment @pashelleclarke. They're really great girls!!! :)

Great adventure and amazing girls! I wish that more parents would try a challenge like this with their kids. I am also convinced that all kids can do so much more then we believe. I find with my own kids (also 5 and 7) that for them it is all about motivation. The strength and stamina are there as long as we can make it fun and interesting.
Also very nice photos, and creative to include both English and Spanish in the text.

Thank you so much for the comment @fanstaf. Kids can do anything, we just have to encourage them to get their goals :)

I'm impressed! Your girls are so brave. Keep going

They really are!!! Thanks for the comment @kittie :)

Absolutely stunning photographs, especially the Estrecho waterfall, and it always brings a smile to my face when I see parents actually taking their kids to fun places~
Those are the moments I value the most from my childhood.

That's the best part of being father, having the chance to do the things you like with your own kids. Thanks for the comment @thatadvocate :)

This looks like you are making some great family memories here. We had a similar location when we lived in Illinois called Starved Rock. But I can see that the site you went to is much more breathtaking. Thanks for sharing these great photos and adventures.

Is not probably very partial saying this... but this area of Spain is one of then most beautiful places I've ever seen. Thanks for the comment @joechiappetta!!!

Bello questo posto!!

Grazie @sardrt :D

verry good..
happy family..

What a great story! I'm super impressed. I have a 6 and 8 year old and we go far but not high. Wow!

In this part of Spain you have the chance to do both types of walk. Thanks for the comment @beriberi.

Very nice looking

Wow! Vaya peques "todoterreno" tienes.

Great post! Awesome to see a dedicated dad shaping the lives of his beautiful daughters.
