Many countries in the world have relied on China as a market for their waste.

However ,it has been changed. China took the decision to ban import of foreign recyclable.
This fact was a catalyst for seeking a solution to plastic waste in Europe.
The European Commission has lately published the first-ever Europe-wide strategy on plastics.

To answer the question in the title, this is not the end for the single use plastic in Europe.

It’s a beginning of reducing its use dramatically and also affects all uses of any plastic in general.

The new strategy,

is not only about reducing plastic waste but also, stop littering plastic waste at sea, make recycling profitable for business, encouraging investment and innovation and leads changes in dealing with plastic waste all over the world as a case study.

The success of this strategy,

would position Europe as the first swallow that harbingers the spring.
That could help countries to manage their plastic waste better like these 5 countries China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam that are the majority of plastic pollution in the oceans which is accounted on 60%.

What’s up according to plastic meanwhile?

A lot of good activities:

• UK made a step toward the goal to eliminate avoidable plastic waste as part of the 25
  Year Environmental Plan. No more Plastic Straws, Cotton Swabs, And Single-Use
  Plastics.
• All plastic plates, cups and utensils are banned on Isole Tremiti, an archipelago of the
  east coast of Italy, from 1 May 2018.
• Houston zoo will not longer sell plastic water bottles.

Finally, Implementation of the EU strategy would enable A CIRCULAR PLASTICS ECONOMY and benefit the environment, means protecting our small, blue planet.
