The mountain Mambilla

The mountain Mambilla  is a grassland mountain with an average elevation of about 1600m (over 5,000ft) above sea level thus making it one of the highest mountain in Nigeria. 

The mountain, which has an undulating landscapes free from insects (Mosquitoes), also has the special feature of being a temperate climate within a tropical region.


The mambilla mountain is Located in the highland southern region of Taraba State Nigeria, the mountain is the part of the Shebshi, Adamawa and Atlantic mountain chain and  northern extension of Nigeria and the Bamenda Highlands in Cameroon. 

Mambilla mountain is located in Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba state,  Nigeria and is close to one of the largest game reserve in Nigeria, the Gashaka Gumpti Game Reserve. There are various towns around the mountain with a population of nothing less than 20,000 people. Some of these towns are Nguroje, Maisamari, Gembu, Kakara,  Warwar  Mbamnga, Yerrmaru, Nguroje, Mayo Ndaga and many others.
