This shot has been taken while hiking on "Integral de los Pichinchas" near Quito, Ecuador; a beautiful 8-hours hike between dormant volcanoes more than 4000m above sea level. A highly recommended hike, but be sure to do a few days of acclimatization in Quito before doing it, or the high altitude will make you sick.
