The electrician was supposed to come today, that is the final infrastructure issue before we can move in to the HcMansion. I went down bright and early to have the cows fed by 8, just in case he showed up at 8. Then I went inside and moved my shiny so it was not sitting right out for "inventory" by people not authorized to have that information. Mind you, I like and trust our electrician but I also understand there is wisdom in the old adage: The difference between an honest man and a thief is opportunity. I threw my back out. Now that is a helluva problem to have ain't it? LOL! It is really not that my shiny sack is that large, I was hurrying and did a twist and lift and... I won't be doing any more twisting or lifting for a few days at all.
It was all serendipitous, I suppose. I lay there on the couch all day patiently waiting as I could not do much else any way. When 5 came around I finally called him, he will be by Monday. Small towns, whaddya gonna do? I said "Whatever you can do" and staggered out to give the cows dinner then came home and popped a cold one.
The "monsoon season" finally started yesterday, a lovely hard rain - for around here. It did not even make any puddles but it made everything smell wonderful. And it dropped this on my mountains, which I confess I am not emotionally prepared for, at all. We usually get a few RAINS before this nonsense begins, not this year. From parched to winter... OK, I reckon I am getting ready now.
I am going to have to go celebrate Halloween a little this year. I am not a big fan of the holiday but I have a friend who is nuts about it and she is hand making this amazing mermaid costume. She wins a bar tab pretty much every year with her fabulous outfits so I am going to have to go check out her finished attire and help her run that tab up. And I must say, I do enjoy the rather twisted sense of humor my neighbors put on display in honor of the season...
THANK YOU to the lovely people who have shown me kindness and understanding through a tough time, I am getting myself pulled back together.
Love your story. Sorry about that back that does not like twisting while lifting. I have one that gives me that same issue. I choose Chiropractic care and natural relaxants. Hoping you feel better soon.
Our weather has been wierd lately here hot one day cold the next with rain at night. Mother nature!
Love to you and yours.

Thanks! I may go see a chiropractor, I am going to try some home care first. I watch these physical therapists on youtube, Bob and Brad, and they can usually help me get up and moving again. But boy, I really did a number on myself this time!
HUGS!!!

I twinged my back again this week and all I was doing was getting up off the couch. That said I have pulled it before just while putting a sock on! A few years back I ended up going to a Chiropractor when it totally froze up and I was hobbling around hunched over for weeks, that was a brutal experience but I did fix it - just now again these twinges come back.
Halloween never used to be that popular in the UK, no that I can remember from when I was younger. But in the last 15 years or so it has slowly grown and grown, although like most Holidays it has just turned into a big money making opportunity for business's to sell all manor of bizarre creations.
That said we always seem to end decorated to the hilt with spooky ornaments, Pumpkin Carving in the one tradition I do like though because it's a fun bit of creative time the whole family can do together.

My first visit to a chiropractor was when my neck froze up on me reaching for my toothbrush. I had a pretty bad water skiing accident right before that happened, though. I have just never had a muscle pull lay my up like this. I cannot turn a doorknob or pick up a thermos of coffee without feeling it. Today is the first day I have been able to do a little bit of pushing myself. Yay!

That is a lovely vista in your pic, yet what is happening on the roof of the vehicle in the other pic? 😎

Thank you!
My neighbor took a baby doll, wrapped it in bandages like it has broken arms and legs and strapped it to the top of her car. A little twisted, but a pretty funny Halloween decoration!

Sorry to hear you hurt your back. Take care of it the best you can, these things have a bad habit of flaring up from time to time later. You electrician sounds like my handyman. Shows up whenever the mood moves him! LOL It is just part of life here. Glad to hear that you are getting yourself back on track. Hugs!
