Some Long Exposure Photography at the Frozen Creek

Long-Exposure Photography with water is also one type of photography that I find very interesting and I really like to do it very often. Bird and Animalphotography is my main priority when I want to go for a Photography Trip but whenever this is a bit difficult or when the weather is not so nice, or when the time of the year is bad for this kind of photography I look for other things to do and this is very often Long-Exposure Photography because this can be done whole year round.

Taking pictures of moving Object with lights, cars, ferry wheels, fireworks is one type of photography where I often use Longtime exposures. But of course moving water is also excellent for this type of photography. This is why I always take my Lee-Filters with me in case ther is a nice spot where I can do some shots Like these. Waterfalls and creeks are always an intersting subject and as you walk along a creek you will probably find several nice places to take pictures of the moving water.

The combination with the Ice of the winter and the moving water is especially interesting I find. Also very nice when you have some leaves from autumn in the water and lying around so you can use them in your pictures.

I really like the different shapes the water creates when freezing to Ice. At a Creek you can find a lot of really interesting shapes and sizes. One thing I don't really like about the winter is that you always need to wear a very warm coat and trousers as well as shoes so you don't get cold. With some thick coats it is not so easy to move, and since you are limited with movement and the ground is frozen you really need to be very careful not to fall and hurt yourself or the equipment.
