Winner

The NBA trade deadline was as the kids say very "lit" before the end of the day. I waned to discuss the biggest Winner and the biggest Losers. First thing first the big WInner. Many people cannot tell me who the guy is above but he was the biggest winner in the NBA trades. The picture above is Koby Altman and he is the GM of the Cleveland Cavs. In his first year he should all but run away with the executive of the year award. Koby basically changed the whole roster for the Cavs to turn it into a young contending team. This is very important for (2) reasons. (1) It shows Lebron that he can get things going if he feel that the team was going nowhere............. which they weren't. (2) In this game of free agency chess Koby just made a move and told Lebron checkmate. Here is why.......... If Lebron leaves like everyone suspects him to, the Cavs are in a good position to move on without him. Unlike the last time he took "his talents somewhere" the Cavs team has players and with the greatest accomplishment of Koby (keeping the Nets Lottery Pick) he can replace Lebron with a high talented player and still allow this team to remain competitive in the Eastern Conference.

This is also important because after the Forbes just valued all NBA team over a (B)illion dollars, owner Dan Gilbert will be able to execute his plan to sell the Cavs to someone and buy the team that he has always wanted from the beginning...THE DETROIT PISTONS. Gilbert has placed most of his businesses in downtown Detroit. In addition to placing his businesses downtown he has also bought almost all the real estate that is for sale in the re-emergence of downtown Detroit. His vision is almost complete he has Koby to thank for making this happen and also showing Lebron that they will survive if he chooses to go west.

Loser

The Memphis Grizzlies nightmare keeps getting worst. Hoping to trade Tyreke Evan into a first round draft pick did not happen for the Grizzlies. With most of their money locked up in hurt PG Mike Conley and often hurt and expensive Chandler Parsons Memphis has struggled to be competitive in the super stacked Western Conference. With Marc Gasol on the back end of his career, Memphis should have tried to get something for both Tyreke and Gasol and try to build in the very talent 2018 NBA Draft class. This story looks like it is not going to end well for GM Chris Wallace. Grizzlies need to find leadership that going to get them better talent and not pay guys that dont deserve to make the money that Parson makes. Jerry West is not walking back in that door but there are competent guys in the industry that could help Memphis easily. One guy that comes to mind is Troy Weaver from OKC.
