The Portland Trail Blazers star Carmelo Anthony shared his thoughts on the Los Angeles Lakers signing Jared Dudley over him and he said "Me and Jared Dudley had issues in the past, but I started feeling bad for him a little bit. I mean, not feeling bad, but it's just like, 'leave that man alone.' It's not his fault. Teams that wanted him, they wanted a specific role, and that's why they picked him up. I had to tell some guys to lay off. He wasn't keeping a roster spot from me. That wasn't the case. The treatment he received wasn't right." It’s still early in the season. Los Angeles Lakers had Kyle Kuzma, they were putting their trust in him, and signing Carmelo Anthony would just stunt his potential growth. In hindsight, probably could have picked up Carmelo Anthony and traded away Kyle Kuzma for an asset. Kyle Kuzma seems to have actively taken a back seat role and just doesn't want to perform or maybe he is still adjusting to his intended role with LeBron and Anthony Davis leading the way. Anyways, fans need to stop asking this questions, players like Melo and Dudley are both enjoying the privilege they received wherein they got a chance to play basketball which is their passion and showcase their skills. Without doubt, Melo is better than Dudley but I agree to what Melo said that the Lakers chose Dudley over him for a specific role and I think it is a win-win for the Lakers too since Melo is expensive when talking about salary as compared to Dudley. Well anyways, that is just my two cents.
