NBN Fails - Project will need Massive Government Bailout

Just when I thought my rants about the NBN were coming to an end, I found out today that my install has been delayed AGAIN! Originally I was supposed to have the NBN through HFC technology delivered to my house before the end of 2017. Due to 'technical changes required', or code word for utter technical incompetency, my install was put back an accurate estimate of 6-9 months. Now, due to more NBN bungling and additional bullshit, another 12 months or so will be added to the rollout in my area.

This is yet another example of government incompetency and inability to rollout a significant infrastructure project in Australia. If this were a private business, the government would have placed them into bankruptcy by now!

To add more pain to this already piss poor story, today it was revealed the NBN will not make money and will need a massive Federal Government bailout in the next few years. Now I could have told you that and would have only charged a few thousand $$$ for the information.

The government has setup the NBN Co’s to have a monopoly status. This has resulted in a mobile broadband arms race from Australia’s telcos as they looked to super-fast 5G mobile technology to pick up market share. Most likely, a 5G network will be rolled out more widely than the NBN can, rendering the NBN redundant before it is even connected in some areas of the country.

The higher cost of some NBN plans is a direct result of the Government’s insistence that the NBN deliver a commercial return. This is actually holding back average internet speeds in Australia which was not the original intent of the NBN. Government meddling and changes have resulted in a very botched and redundant internet infrastructure being rolled out in Australia. The initial foresight of the NBN was an exciting prospect, but as it has been stuffed up over the past five years, I am no longer looking forward to being connected to what will most likely be the least preferred network in Australia once it reaches most households.

Australia needs to look at itself and start talking about constitutional reform. Our constitution and governmental system is s*** and does nothing to protect people's rights. People who aren't even born shouldn't be born into debt slavery so a few individuals can get on sunrise and talk about the "digital economy" and "jobs and innovation".

Can the NBN. Sell it to the private sector and get the rest of the costs to be covered by private funds.

I already have NBN connection and this my speed

What is your current speed?

Oh Shit. My download speed is twice as quick and no NBN!

I don't think you want NBN then ?

Well , at-least it cuts down on your wait anxiety !!
