Needlework Monday - What If I Can Do It?

It's been a while since I've submitted needlework on Steemit, but I'm super happy to get back at it!

Lately, I've been struggling with the idea of being afraid of succeeding, instead of failing. And I know that doesn't make sense because, who would be scared of something good, right?

Well, to me it's not the success per se that scares me, is what happens afterward. What if things magically occur the way I exactly want them to and it turns out I lose everything because I'm not able to handle them? What if it all brings me right back to square one - or worse?

There is a reason why people, and Coldplay, say "if you never try, you'll never know". So, instead of asking myself all these unproductive questions, I asked myself, "what if I can do it?"

What would that make me feel? What would I do with my success?

We all want success and success comes with risks; there's no doubt about that. And nothing worth having in this life is easy, so instead of focusing on what's at stake, I decided we should focus on what we are willing to risk to get where we want to be. Because when we get there, and we will get there, every risk we have taken will be worth it.

Hi @agsttne, did you make this little thing? How are you going to use it?

I really like your embroidery @agsttne... The message reminds of the motto at the school of my youngest daughter : "I can; I know I can". I am an oldish parent so for me this was quite groundbreaking at the time... so much so, that I often remind her of the motto and I endeavour to foster that type of positive thinking !

It's exactly like you say, we should definitely remind ourselves more often that we are truly capable of doing a lot of things, we just need to push ourselves and overcome our fears. That's all! Thank you for stopping by

I like the way you are thinking, @agsttne! And I'll bet that looking at the message while you worked on the needlepoint just cemented the concept for you. Fantastic. Happy #NeedleworkMonday!

I love seeing your embroidery work and all of the thought you put into making them! That’s a good question to ask ourselves to motivate us to give things a try. I love the concept of what you did. Once again very encouraging work and I thank you for sharing it with us! 😊
