A Wishful NeedleWorkMonday - If time were on my side

in needleworkmonday •  5 years ago

This #NeedleWorkMonday is all about my wishlist! Unlike regular wishlists where you write items down that you’d like to purchase or receive, I am gathering a list of things I wish to crochet. I call it my ”To Make Crochet Wishlist!” Seeing all of the awesome creative things that you all have shared for the last almost two years (#NeedleWorkMonday’s two year anniversary is this July) has given me anxiety. 😅 Anxiety due to wanting to try out so many things but not having the time to.

You all know that I have been working on building up stock (slowly but it’s coming) for my online store with Homesteaderscoop. I had to put my beginning crochet tutorials aside (don’t worry those will return eventually) to have more time to focus on this. All the while I have a ton of projects I desire to make...mostly for others and some for myself! 😁😄

Here are some projects I want to make for others...

My sister and niece just moved in to their new home and I want to make a couch throw to hang over their new furniture. These neutral colors will blend well and the simple chevron design fits her style.

By the time I make this she will have repainted her house. 😅

I thought this crocheted sensory book was such a great idea. I want to make one for my baby girl who will turn one next month and for my great niece who just turned one last month.

My little cousin wants one of these mermaid tail blankets for when she is reading her books. They are so cute and cozy but will take quite some time to make.

These floor poufs will be great next to our kids’ bookshelf! They would also be great for lounging on while watching family movies. I would love to make these in pretty bright colors!

We have several coffee and tea drinkers in our family including myself. I want to make a few sets of these crochet mug rugs for each household. I would play around with different yarn fabrics and techniques.

Here are a few projects I have in mind for myself 😁...

I’ve been wanting to make myself a Summer crocheted vest for the longest. I purchased a knitted one years ago and loved it. Now I have the skills to make my own in a multitude of colors! I love how lightweight it is and how it flows.

I love the idea of turning your flip flops into a needlework masterpiece! I would love to give my flip flops an upgrade with some handmade flair! These are just sooo cute!! When I first saw these they reminded me of @akipponn and something she would enjoy knitting :)

This is one of the prettiest crochet hats I have seen and I love the 1920’s look of it! I can see me wearing this with my skinny’s and heels when having a night on the town with my hubby! This hat I will make myself one day for sure!!! 👌🏽

I love the look and feel of this chunky yarn. I have arm knitted a scarf before so I am familiar with the technique. I plan to make a bed spread for our room using the basket weave stitch. I think these are great for decoration as well as cozying up any room. I love cuddling up with blankets so it will be rewarding doing so with one I hand crafted :)

Finally, this is a piece I fell in love with at first sight. This piece was inspired by the popular and stylish African rope necklaces that are in demand today. It’s a simple yet elegant design of wearable art that would be a for sure conversation starter. I look forward to making one and will proudly sport it with one of my sleek dresses. You can also wear it as a belt or with the loops hanging in front.

So there ya have it! A few of the items on my “To Make Crochet Wishlist”! It may take five to ten years to get these all done but one day it will happen! The anticipation keeps me motivated! 😄

How many items are on your ‘To Make Wishlist’?

So many awesome things on this list! The Braided Breeze Necklace and Belt looks really cool.

I hope I can get to them all :D

Thanks for viewing ~

If you ever make the flip-flops I'll buy a pair off you for @geke - she would love those!

I took note of this. Thank you! 👌🏽

Oh my goodness, I am in love with your wishlist! Especially the African Ropes one. Stunning! I have a couple of classes I purchased through Craftsy (now Bluprint) with things I want to make, plus some things I saw from others here that I want to try. I agree with @neumannsalva, all us needleworkers need extra sets of arms for all the projects we want to do!! 😂

Lol yeeeeesssssss! That rope necklace/belt is my favorite!! 😍

Cool! I remember signing up for a free class from Craftsy!

Lol yes we sure could use another set of arms!! 😄

Honestly, I think you should invest into science... to grow another pair of arms perhaps or to learn to time-travel. I guess this would also make a fabulous post and all other needleworkers would be highly interested in learning from you :-DDD
But I can understand you too well. I have a ravelry favourites list which so long, I would need many years to finish it. And then there is sewing and all the things I want to learn.. sigh
You have chosen beautiful projects. The blanket in neutral colors looks very stylish and would be a beautiful addition for every couch. I also love the little crochet book. You could perhaps insert some crackling foil or special fabrics with fur... so many options. This would be a perfect toy (and a good article for your shop?)
And the vest is amazing. It really looks airy and a bit boho style - ready for the summer. I just noticed it’s a free pattern and does not look too complicated.
Wonderful projects and I am curious if you will start one of them …

Hmmmm perhaps I can use my daughter’s third grade science kit to start experimenting with the arms! 😂 I have a Pinterest list that has been growing for the last three years lol! That’s a great idea for the sensory book! I wanted to add some kind of noise effects to it and foil would be awesome! If I pull it off it will definitely be an item I place in the shop ;D
Yes the vest does have a boho feel and it is a FREE pattern! 😍😎

I hope I get to do all of them...eventually!

Yes please do this and make a video tutorial for arm-growth 🤪🤪😂 Right now I envision a crochet project where we crochet a costume with several arms strapped secretly on once back - but I am not sure if this would be helpful to become faster in knitting/crochet/ sewing 😆
I hope your shop preparation/selling works fine?

Those are great projects... I did for my baby girl a animals book https://partiko.app/tahiaarq/a-christmas-gif-for-my-baby-girl-xrnawqdd?referrer=tahiaarq its was sewing... I love the puff but now for me here its so difficult find good and beautiful yarn for any project... Thank you for share... I believe you will don't have time to eat or take a shower to do all those...

Yes I remember yours!! 😍

Lol I would need to work on one of these everyday in order to fulfill my full wishlist before I turn 80! 😂

Thank you for reminding me crosheille :) Ja we need a lot of arms as neumannsalva wrote to knit sew upcycle ... So many nice projects.

I missed the timing to make a crochet book or fabric book for my daughter. Babies grow too fast ...

Making my own shoes is something I've never done and it's one of my dreams. Starting from crocheted flip flop will be perfect.

Hahaha yes we need more arms for sure! To be honest I might not make it in time to make her a book either. I may save that for my grands! Yes I could really see you pulling off these flip flops!! 🤩😘

I had a long, filet stitch vest back in the 70s. Great memories. As for my wish list, I keep mine on Ravelry--they call them a "queue" and mine currently has 38 items. That is not counting my in-progress projects.

Cool! I have always loved vests like these! Your Ravelry list sounds like my Pinterest list! I need to browse Ravelry more, my first go to is always Pinterest but I have seen some nice things on there too!

Que lindos proyectos.. yo tengo planificado realizar un traje de baño tejido. @crosheille espero lo concretes.

Eso sería genial de hacer! Por favor, comparte cuando lo hagas!

I saw several beautiful, would be great projects, that siren tail, I die for it, beautiful! fantastic @crosheille

Yay I’m glad you viewed my list and liked the items! I want a mermaid tail for myself lol! 😄

They are joyful!
Great wishlists for the summer

Thanks for checking it out ;D

You have just added more projects into my wishlist @crosheille which is already like a few pages long, I lost count 😱 hehe. I love the throw, the sensory book, the floor poufs, the summer vest (this has also been in my wishlist for the longest time) and the basket weave bed spread!! 😍😍😍

Posted using Partiko iOS

Haha ooops sorry! I know you didn’t need more lol!

Oooh when you make your vest you have to share!! 😍😍😍

Oh your post reads like a real crocheter's dream!
Now that I've completed my dress, I have the time and room in my head to look for another project, so like you, I'm compiling a very long list... let's see where it all ends :D
I love those crochet slippers and those floor poufs, these are projects I'd love to try. The trouble is, I don't really need either of them, but I just love the idea :D

I hope your shop will be a very successful one! With all the ideas you've got, I'm sure you'll have lots of interest. All the best with it!

Ah yes! You are ready to move on to your next adventure! Looking forward to seeing what that will be!!

Lol I definitely understand. Some things seem so cool and fun to make but you may not need them! But they can become great gifts for someone else ;D

Thank you so much for the success wishes!!
