here!!!

Happy Monday folks!!! I made this baby crochet owl set a few years back. I didn't have a particular baby I was making this for. It was one of those things I wanted to try to accomplish and get more practice with my skill. I was really getting into mastering patterns and challenging myself. So I made it, kept it on hand and then gave it away to someone special.

The hat of course took the longest. It was putting all of the pieces together once crocheted that took the longest. You have to make sure the eyes and nose are well centered before sewing them on. The fun part was playing around with all of the colors! The creator of this pattern did a really good job making the instructions as understandable as possible.

Making the sassy bows for this project was a lot of fun! The edging on them is what caught my eye. The last rows of stitching use a technique called reverse single crochet. It gives it such a pretty finish around the edges. It took a minute to get use to crocheting backwards but once I got the hang of it I was able to keep flowing smoothly.

You can find the diaper cover pattern

here!!!

The pattern creator for this diaper cover also did a good job on the written instructions. There are a lot of different diaper cover patterns out there but I really liked the drawstring idea. I felt it would be easier tying one of these instead of buttoning it up every time. It didn't take me long to finish this one, as it is a short simple pattern. I added a sassy bow on the back to match the owl hat.

You can find the free baby booties pattern

here!!!

Finally the booties!! This pattern was also well written. The trick about making booties or shoes is making sure you use the same consistency with each one. If you crochet loosely or tightly with the first one do the exact same with the other. I always try to find the in between. I don't like my work too loose because it tends to loose shape. I don't like it too tight because it tends to make my work hard to the touch instead of soft as well as changing the look of my projects completely. I enjoyed adding in multiple colors!

Thank you so much for stopping in and viewing more of my work! Also thank you to all of you participating and sharing your needlework art with the Steemit community! It really makes a difference when you support and encourage someone with like interests.

Lol oh trust me it was soooo weird crocheting backwards at first but you will get the hang of it! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿฝ Thanks so much for reading~

Sharing patterns is great! I thought I was in heaven when I first found Ravelry, but I have learned since that there is so much on the site that great patterns can easily be missed or overlooked. I love seeing things directly from the people who made them and finding new patterns that way. It also has the benefit of letting me know if the pattern was simple or really difficult. lol

I totally agree! Between Ravelry and Pinterest I have found so many people willing to share their patterns for free. That is so beneficial for us!!! I have also purchased a few patterns on Etsy but only if I need something specific, don't have time to create it on my own and when I can't find a free pattern for it.

Another fabulous piece of crochet @crosheille, the owl hat is a huge success! The sewing together is def what takes so long, but makes the piece! Beautiful - well done my friend :)
