NEEDLEWORKMONDAY: UPDATE ON PREEMIE HATS, THE HOSPITAL TURN OVER

Hello everybody,

On pre - Valentine's day all 314 hats crocheted by 32 Crochetists of Cebu Crochet Group was turned over to Centcom Camp Lapu-Lapu Hospital at Lahug, Cebu City, Philippines by the young active beautiful admins.

They washed and spin dry.

Happy hospital staff...

Inside the hospital...wonderful feeling!

Oh by the way, last Friday I started making my umbrella cut, I copied my skirt I bought last year. This was a long time plan to make.

Using 5ply cotton and 3mm steel hook.

I started at the navel part, by making a twin extended double crochet foundation as row 1. Then, for the next row just plain filet crochet. But, when you look at it closely, it is slanted double crochet.

This stitch was just a recall I made in 1993. Before I was commissioned by Lulu Tan Gan, which was named Queen of knits in the fashion world here in the Philippines.

I made crocheted vest for her. That time my right arm was so painful, when I crochet my strokes was slanted, result a beautiful slanted stitch. And, she wowed for the result. Hahaha, I did not expect with my pain I created a new stitch!
