NeedleworkMonday: My Glacier Cowl

in needleworkmonday •  7 years ago

Hello all!

For my FIRST #NeedleworkMonday submission.... 😁

While participating in the Seven Day Black and White Challenge, I shared a photo of a crochet project I was working. That is when I met @croshellie. She invited me to participate in the Needlework Mondays when I had projects to share, and I was excited to do that. I love arts and crafts, so this is right up my alley.

Plus, I made a promise to myself to some type of crafts every month in 2018, no matter what it was, and this will definitely help me post something (whether an in-progress work, or something I have done already).

Anyway, this is the finished Glacier Cowl.

This was made using Caron Cakes in Key Lime Pie. At first I was on the fence about the colors (because I am a lover of all things purple - LOL), but it turned out so pretty.

I got the pattern from “The Crochet Crowd” website.

I am definitely an “advanced beginner”, but we all get better with practice. I have come a LONG way from making dishcloths and rectangles!

Thanks @croshellie for the invite!

Great colors!

Thanks so much! I thought so too! 😊

Hi @mrscwin! I love your cowl! The colors are actually really nice and it looks good on you. So happy to have you here with us. Happy #NeedleworkMonday!

Thanks a bunch! Great to be here with such incredible crafters!

Hey there @mrscwin!!! I am so glad you made it to #NeedleWorkMonday, welcome!!!! 😃 Your cowl turned out so lovely!!! Yes those colors are so cute together and it looks nice on you.

That is a good goal, to make something every month this year! You joined us right on time because we would love to see every project you embark on ;) Thank you so much for posting today!!!

Thanks so much for inviting me, and for the compliments on my cowl! I will definitely be showing off the upcoming creations here. Making time for what I love, for sure.... 😉

It was my pleasure. That’s so great to hear! It’s really important we try to make time for the things we love!!!

Looks like you did a beautiful job on it. I also like the colors. You were pretty adventurous; this is a far cry from purple!

I appreciate it! Yes, a far cry from purple, for sure!

Nice work! Welcome to #needleworkmonday, looking forward to seeing more from you @mrscwin!

Thanks so much!

Looks really nice and cozy!

It really is - thanks so much!

nice colors
if you touch me with you i will build my self

nice needlework for an 'advance beginner' ....cheers

Appreciate the compliment! Yes, I still have a LOT to learn.... 😉

I love the colours of that cowl @mrscwin. I really like your 2018 of making something every month.

Thanks so much! I’m always giving to others, but never make time for what I enjoy. By setting this goal, it is always on my mind to do a little something toward this.

Wow this is great, I really love this cakes, but sadly I only see them here or on instagram, but not in a shop (sigh). I asked you in my reply to my sweater post if you crochet and now I know :-D Happy to have you here!

Awww. Yes, they sell these Caron Cakes at Michael’s only, and sometimes they don’t have the colors that you want in stock. Happy to be here with all of you incredible crafters!

I only have cakes from rico design here in the shops.. but they are much thinner. But it's ok... I am not allowed to buy more yarn (realllyyyy!!!!) And yes, I hope to see many craft projects to get inspired and to learn something new (and to natter about yarn :-D)

Yes, my husband says I need to use the yarn I have first before getting more. :-D

Great job! You should feel satisfied you completed your project! I'm about to share my completed cowl. It looks much different from your pattern. It's my first attempt to crochet one. I always learn something new from each project I crochet that I can use on my next project. My goal is to try and crochet some each week! I am probably only and advanced beginner also, because I'm just coming back to crocheting again after not crocheting for probably 7-8 years!

Thanks so much! I can’t wait to see your cowl! Yes, I definitely learn a lot from my projects, just like you. So glad you’re back to crocheting! 😊
