Crochet T-shirt Yarn Bag

Hello all #needleworkmonday friends!

I finally found a bit of time to post here a quick pic of my T-shirt Yarn crochet bag, which frankly should have been posted a few weeks ago...

I've been thinking of crocheting a nice bag to store all sorts of shopping bags and the like.

I needed a strong yarn, which could be used to crochet a bag that would stand up on its own.

So T-shirt yarn was really the best option for this as it's often used to crochet baskets.

I chose two colours, a darker for the bottom and the handles and lighter for the body of the bag.

As for the stitch, I thought I'd just go for the simplest single stitch, so as to have strong sides of the bag.

It's a really quick and easy process, except that your wrists can start hurting if you try to do it too quickly.

Someone told me I could use it for shopping, but the thing is it would be quite impractical as the bag is quite heavy.

Items made from T-shirt yarn are usually quite heavy and not suitable for carrying around.

You're right, projects made from t-shirt-yarn are quite heavy, but they're soft, too. I made several rugs to put in the bathroom - they're soft to stand on and you can wash them easily.

You're right @muscara t-shirt yarn rugs are really soft, I've also made a few for my bathrooms and everone really loves them!

That looks very beautiful... it's a pity it's not practical due to its weight. Is there any technique you can apply to your next piece, to solve that?

Thanks @trincowski ! I actually knew it won't be a shopping bag when I was making it. Its purpose in life is to be a storage bag in the corner of my kitchen :-)
