Hey guys! Its another Monday once again and its also a holiday. I am glad because this means I have a lot of free time to rest and to check out loads of posts🙂.
I realized that I lots of jeans that still love but I had to use belt on to make them firm on my waist. I actually don't like a belt too tight on my waist so I either wear the jeans with a long blouse or I abandon the jeans all together.
However, thanks to the internet I have found a solution to this little issue.
The requirement for this procedure are:
1" elastic
A little scissors
A piece of chalk
Needle and thread
Safety pin

The steps are as follows:

spread your jeans on the table and measure at least two inches on each side away from where the label of the jeans are at the inner back of the jeans
use a chalk to mark the measured part
with your scissors, cut a little mark big enough for the elastic to go through on each side , be careful so as not make the cut show on the outer side of the jeans
measure the elastic by stretching it from one side of the cut to the other, once its able to get to the other side through stretching, cut the elastic on that exact point
please note that the elastic has to be smaller than the space between both cuts
pass the elastic through the cut space using a safety pin, once it gets to the other end use a safety pin to hold it in place
using a needle and thread sew the elastic onto the jeans on each side making sure it doesn't show on the outer part of the jeans.
The outcome is a reduced waist size that holds firmer onto your waist.
If you prefer it to be even tighter then do the same technique on either sides of the hips and you would get an even tighter waist.
Your jean will be ready to wear without the use of a belt!

Thank you for reading🙂

That's a clever way to keep wearing the jeans :D. Sometimes wearing a belt is upsetting, right? It takes time to put it on and sometimes it is not comfortable.

Yeah! I don't like to wear belts on my jeans except I tucked in the jeans, and even at that I still rarely wear belts on them, they make me so uncomfortable😓

now jeans will be much more convenient :) great !!

Yeah @tali72, they feel as firm as brand new jeans☺

That's a good idea, I always have that sticking out bit at the back, this is much more snug.

Me too @shanibeer, this option helped me eliminate that.

Hey! I might need to use that for my boys pants! He has a teeny tummy and super long legs. Good for running, not so good for pant buying.

Lol! I bet it would work!

OMG if the day ever comes when my pants are too large, I will check back. Usually they are too small but don't start out that way...LOL. Great tutorial @wondermaey. Happy #NeedlworkMonday!

Lol! I can't help the laughter 🤣 Thanks @crystalize

Thanks for tutorial @wondermaey! What a good idea! I usually sew (make little pleats) without cutting the jeans, just in case I "grow" sideways again :)

Yeah That is a also cool way @marblely, thanks for checking my post☺

I too do not like wearing tight belts! This is such a good way to reduce pant size! Thank you so much for sharing and giving us a visual!! I’m sure I’ll be referring back to this! 😃

Thanks for looking up my post @crosheille, I see people belting up their jeans and I wonder how they're able to smile in such an outfit. Really relieves me that I'm not the only one that feels uncomfortable in it

Of course!! I enjoy reading your posts!! 😉

How you fixed your jeans reminds me of how some children’s jeans are made nowadays. They actually add in an elastic piece on both sides of the waist. This piece has holes in it and a button sewn next to it so you can find the proper adjustments and hold it in place. I wish they made adult jeans this way :D

Oh Yeah, I have seen it one of my sister's skirt. Its very functional, Lol! I wish, they might not since adult don't grow as fast as kids do. I think I should probably try it for myself , its going to be hidden from sight after all🤔

Lol!! Yes I think you should!!! It’s kind of like what you did but just on both sides of the waist. Lol true point, adults don’t grow as much. 😅

Hi @wondermaey, I just stopped back to let you know your post was one of my favourite reads and I included it in my Fiber Ramble. You can read what I wrote about your post here.

Thanks for checking up my post, I'm happy you find it useful☺

Great how to! How clever!
I love fixing things and continuing using them rather than just buying new things every time something breaks, (or doesnt fit anymore!)
Thanks!
