Brazilian goalkeeper Bruno Fernandes, former Flamengo captain and sentenced to more than 20 years in prison for the murder of his ex-girlfriend, received a proposal to join a regional category club in the state of Minas Gerais, said the president of Poços from Caldas FC to Brazilian media.
The 34-year-old footballer was benefited by a judicial decision taken last July that allows him to return again to the semi-open regime after the murder of his ex-girlfriend Eliza Samúdio in 2010.
The president of the club Poços de Caldas FC, Paulo César da Silva, told the news portal Globalosporte that Bruno is the new player of the team, although he said that the contract was not yet signed, which could occur in the presentation.
Despite the announcement of the club, the player still needs an authorization from justice to be able to move to the town of Poços de Caldas.
"I will probably start training next week. It just needs some authorizations, some things that need to be seen, but it has already been hired by the club," added the president of Poços de Caldas FC.
As explained by the player's lawyer, Mariana Migliorini, to balloon support, the goal of the defense is for Bruno to continue living in Varginha, but obtain a special authorization to train in Poços de Caldas.
The goalkeeper was arrested in 2010 and convicted in 2013 for the murder of the model Eliza Samúdio, with whom he had a son.
Samudio, 25 years old and who claimed of the soccer player the payment of a pension for his son, disappeared in 2010 and was considered dead, although his body was never found, in a case that shocked Brazil.
The player became acquitted by a precautionary decision of the Brazilian Supreme Court and in 2017 he returned to play football with the Boa Esporte, club of the city of Varginha, in the state of Minas Gerais.
The measure, however, was repealed that same year and Bruno surrendered to the authorities of the town of Varginha, where he was arrested again.
Formed in Atlético Mineiro, with which he debuted as a professional, Bruno also played in Corinthians, although he achieved success and fame in the Flamengo of Rio de Janeiro, with which he won the 2009 Brazilian Championship and three cariocas championships, standing then as one of the best goalkeepers in the country.
