I really enjoyed this movie because it touches on a subject so many people actually face. However, medically it is full of flaws that I think may do a disservice to those people with fertility issues.
The scene where Richard and Rachel go in for the procedure only to find out there's something wrong on his end would never happen on procedure day. The clinic would've tested both couples long before they invested so much money and went under anesthesia.
Furthermore, their niece could never be an egg donor because fertility clinics require you to have successfully delivered off-spring of your own prior to donation. I don't believe this is true for males donating sperm but I think its widely true for females donating oocytes.
I really wish the movie would've done a better job really digging into the facts on this process considering its the first major movie to touch on this subject. I'd hate for it to deter people from considering IVF options because of the way it inaccurately portrayed the various surprises and options.
