She's Gotta Have It From Spike Lee Comes To Netflix As A Series

Spike was always ahead of his time :: turned his first 'joint' into a Netflix Series

What should become immediately clear is that Spike Lee was addressing several of these issues long before the 'rest of society'. By going to a 'series' he can spend even more time delving into this topic, within the modern setting. I'd argue the Nola Darlings of the world are much more common today than they where when "She's Gotta Have It" originally premiered in theaters.

I was pretty young when it came out but I remembered it. Shot entirely in black and white, it was a 'take' that most of us had not really seen before. A woman, free, choosing her own path, and not worried about what others thought of her. This was truly some pioneer level shit that Spike Lee will never get much credit for in 'white media outlets'.

I'll be watching this one on Netflix, will you?
