CA Sen. Scott Wiener to Bring Legislation Requiring Net Neutrality to CA

Net Neutrality is a BIG deal!... Though we cannot be solely dependent on government to make decisions that represent our best interests, it is good to see that we have government officials who are on the side of their constituents rather than deep-pocket corporations and lobbyists. CA Sen. Wiener recently wrote an article on Hacker Noon which argued that democracy in these modern times ("this authoritarian age") is inconceivable without net neutrality. Here is a snippet from the article:

Particularly in this authoritarian age — with constant attacks from Washington on our democratic values and the free press — we must have a free and open internet. Our democracy depends on it.

Wiener, in response to the attack on Net Neutrality by the US Gov and Donald Trump, is to release legislation in January that will require net neutrality (in California of course...) in order to preserve free speech and a 21st century democracy. Here is a quote from his article on Hacker Noon:

Currently, California doesn’t have its own net neutrality regulations, because we have deferred to the federal requirement. My legislation will bring net neutrality requirements to California.

Now that the FCC has repealed net neutrality, let’s adopt it in California
