I think you will enjoy this book by Penrose. Unfortunately, as far as I know, nobody has succeeded in proving that quantum mechanics is relevant to explain the functionality of any structure inside our bodies, especially with regard to our brain. Quantum mechanics has achieved a singular status of being the most poorly known area of physics and the answer to all questions... I try to keep a conservative view.
