Jakarta - Similar to Indonesia, the smartphone market in India is targeted by various global mobile phone vendors. Their races are trying to be topnotch, one of which is successfully achieved by Samsung.
However, Samsung's position as the number one vendor in India is in the smartphone smartphone segment. Although in Q4 yesterday Samsung had lost to Xiaomi, again the South Korean company was successfully pushed into the top position with 50% market share counted in Q1 2018.
Samsung's premium mobile phone shipments are currently led by its new flagship device, Galaxy S9 and S9 +. It accounts for 29% of total high-end mobile phone sales during the period ended March 31, 2018.
Lowest variant or in other words Galaxy S9 counted has a market share of 12% and for variants Galaxy S9 + have a market share of 17%.
Not only the Galaxy S9 series, the demand for Galaxy A8 in the country is also increasing and is currently sold exclusively in online stores.
Following Samsung in second place is OnePlus. This Chinese mobile phone vendor successfully occupies the number two position in India in the first quarter with the sale of OnePlus 5T. The successor of OnePlus 5 becomes the best-selling smartphone and reaches 25% of the market.
While in third position is occupied by Apple which reach 20% market share. Biggest contribution was achieved by the old iPhone model and also iPhone 8 and iPhone X.
