Calming down the Hot Potatoes while the Reward-Pool is filling up with money!

in new-users •  8 years ago

Beta-testing is fun, when you understand the concept and collect data. However it is frustrating for the unknown soldier to know what is going on when he or she has forgot to do their homework, and that can make one or two a bit hot-headed some times :)

Calming down the hot potatoes

While the rewardpool is filling up, we have had to calm down and explain quite a few steemians about what is going on, and I must say that the @SteemSpeak community has been doing an amazing job these past few days. Not everyone like that the reward-section is in a drastic consensus change, and many a steemian has said things in anger that I shall not repeat here to keep this article as PG as possible.

The Past, The Present & The Future

Screenshot 2017-04-04 02.37.12.png

Just as an example - the red distance represents the community from the beginning to say.. Now. And the Blue distance, which does not really have an ending but say it represents the next 99 years of users joining the platform.

For the Millions of users who will join Steemit & Golos in the future!

We are preparing the platform not just a few users but millions, perhaps billions of users joining @steemit and/or @golos. So no matter how we look at it, at todays situation - It will self correct over time, so do not give up - stay onboard, steem like before and vote like before.

Have FUN & Steem ON

I think it's really important to get the word out regarding all the changes. I had only just joined a week before the changes, I had no idea what was going on! I completely understand why they needed to happen but only once it had been explained properly. People like yourself are probably gonna have to show a lot of patience and be willing to explain things if Steemit is to catch on :) good article, thanks for the insight!

Yes, well this problem of communication on things from the top down has been an issue since my beginning in july of last year ! Good communication here on Steemit is essential whether it be an internal explanation of to users or an external communication to potential new users and investors ! One and the same essential package we need to go forward in the right way and direction ! But then we must understand that we are in Beta and well.....this shit is all new and these guys are real busy i am sure ) Good Luck to you on this great platform, Steem On and Well done on finding us here )

I put some hot potato tips in my Steemit Daily Dose today! Steem on BIG MAN!! ... whether pennies or pounds! :)

@fyrstikken, steem on dude!

What's @golos?

It's Russian for "voice". Also Golos.io

Thank you, @demotruk

The Russian Steemit hard fork. Or simply, the Russian Steemit.

Thank you, Pat

Yes, but where are we exactly?

And what's the latest reward pool status?

Total Reward Fund: 303,691 STEEM (Worth: $53,753 internally; $53,400 on Poloniex)

Great piece for the positive mood of average user. Retweeted also! :-)

Will watch)

i gave you 20% for that post lol - now time you and Bernie talk and use your energy for the sake of the platform success :-) no chance?

I love this post so much! I totally relate. It takes time to build great things. Also I see a lot of people have a tendency to get in a negative mood quite easily and this is totally the opposite of what we need.

We both share the same vision of Steemit very bright future as well as all the fun and joy this whole revolution is bringing! Keep it up my friend @fyrstikken!

I joined only three days ago so only have the vaguest idea of what's being beta-tested, what's the difference between Steem, Steem power, and Steem dollars (geez, couldn't they have come up with different things to call them?), how or if I can monetize any of my ramblings, and so much more.

Meh. Treating it all like a black box while trying to not commit an unintentional faux pas.
