β†  so, in this article i decided to give you a few healthy & useful habits to develop in this year. i'll also explain why they are good and tell you how to make them a part of your life. personally, i believe habits make life 100Γ— easier. when you make something a habit, you do it kind of unconsciously, like it's not hard for you at all and you don't even notice you've done it. it's much easier to make something a habit than to constantly have to remind & force yourself to do it.
β†  so, here i have a few habits that can greatly benefit your life...

β‘  ᴑᴀᴋᴇ ᴜᴘ α΄‡α΄€Κ€ΚŸΙͺᴇʀ
β†  i know you've heard this one a thousand times already, but there's a reason for that. if you wake up earlier (and therefore go to bed earlier as well), you create an illusion of having more time during the day. studies have shown we are more productive in the morning, because it's far easier to complete your tasks in the morning, when you have the most energy, than in the evening, when you are tired and just want to go to bed.
β†  of course, if you are used to waking up at 10am, don't just suddenly wake up 5 hours earlier, that's not how you develop a habit. start by setting your alarm 1 hour earlier, then 2, then 3... and also make sure you actually go to bed earlier as well. waking up earlier won't help you at all if you're still tired & didn't get enough sleep.

β‘‘ α΄‘α΄€ΚŸα΄‹ ᴍᴏʀᴇ
β†  this is actually great if you're lazy but want to get more active lol. just pop your headphones in & go for a stroll around your neighborhood. keep in mind that walking at a medium pace for an hour can burn up to 200 kcal. it's a great way to get some fresh air & to clear your mind.
β†  i know not all of us have time to just walk for one hour every day, but atleast try to walk more. walk to school instead of taking a bus. take the stairs instead of a lift. if you have extra time, take a longer way to some place. it's all about the little things that add up to big results. no excuses!!

β‘’ α΄…Κ€ΙͺΙ΄α΄‹ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴛᴇᴀ
β†  especially in the winter time, tea has a lot of benefits to your body & mind. it prevents colds, wakes your body up and calms your mind down. i definetly prefer it over coffee, and i especially love the apple & cinnamon tea. if you want to lose weight, it is believed green tea speeds up your metabolism & prevents you from overeating. there is literally no reason for you not to drink tea, so why not make it a part of your daily routine??

β‘£ Κœα΄€α΄ α΄‡ α΄€ sα΄‹Ιͺɴᴄᴀʀᴇ Κ€α΄α΄œα΄›Ιͺɴᴇ
β†  yess, i know this might come off as basic, and i'm sure you all probably know this already. but please, make your skincare routine a habit that you'll do every day, not just when you remember. find the products that suit your skin type and make sure you use them every single day. if you stick with it for a few weeks (while eating healthy, drinking water & not stressing out too much) your skin will be glowing!!

β‘€ ΚŸα΄‡α΄€Κ€Ι΄ sα΄α΄α΄‡α΄›ΚœΙͺΙ΄Ι’ ɴᴇᴑ ᴇᴠᴇʀʏᴅᴀʏ
β†  it doesn't matter how much you've learned, it's just important that you took the time out of your day to expand your mind & knowledge. it's up to you how you're gonna get that knowledge, it can be reading a book, studying for a test, watching a documentary... whatever. just learn something!!

β‘₯ sα΄›α΄€Κ€α΄› ᴍᴇᴅΙͺα΄›α΄€α΄›ΙͺΙ΄Ι’
β†  i think a lot of people have some prejudices about meditating. it's not just sitting with your hands on your knees, chanting 'ommm'. it's meant to free your mind of negative or overwhelming thoughts. it can involve some breathing exercises, and it's supposed to be relaxing.
β†  i've done meditation a few times before, and it was actually really helpful by clearing my mind. i definitely want to make that a habit of mine. if you don't know how to do it, there are many apps that do guided meditation, so i suggest checking them out.

⑦ α΄Šα΄α΄œΚ€Ι΄α΄€ΚŸ
β†  similar to meditating, journalling is meant to clear up your mind and allow you to put your thoughts & emotions on paper. it's especially beneficial to me when i have a stressful week & need some time for myself. you don't have to do it every day (although it's a great thing to do in the morning), do it whenever you feel like you need it. remember to be completely honest, as it is meant for your eyes only anyways, and you'll get the most out of it if you write things as they really are.

⑧ ᴍᴀᴋᴇ α΄€ ᴛᴏ-ᴅᴏ ʟΙͺsα΄›
β†  do you ever feel like 24 hours is just not enough time for you to handle everything? so many work & tasks, and so little time? if the answer is yes, consider making a to-do list.
β†  simply write down all the things that have to get done, and try estimating the time needed to complete them. making a to-do list every morning really makes your day less overwhelming & you'll see that you actually have more than enough time to finish everything

⑨ α΄„ΚŸα΄‡α΄€Ι΄ & ᴏʀɒᴀɴΙͺᴒᴇ
β†  i don't know if you'd consider this a habit, but it's still a good thing to do every morning & night. i don't mean like a huge cleanout & declutter, simply put things back in their place, throw away unwanted papers & organize a bit. that way you probably won't need to take the time out of your weekend to clean your room, because everything will already be done!! better 10 mins a day than 2 hours on the weekend, right?

β†  and those were 9 habits i suggest you develop in 2019!! they are small and might seem insignificant, but they can go a long way. of course, you don't need to develop them all at once, try going step by step and work your way up.
