The company's assertion that the Western Union, which was launched last month, will test Ripple. XRP is being tested in international money transfer.
Earlier in January, Western Unioin, the world's largest money transfer company, allegedly tested Ripple's technology, which aims to use its software and crypto money in international money transfers instead of the SWIFT system. Following these allegations, the crypto currency Ripple (XRP), which shares the same name with the company, gained about 10 percent and outperformed the $ 3 for the second time. The Western Union, which did not make any statement until today, broke its silence today and confirmed its claims.
Raj Agrawal, chief financial officer of the company, which serves in over 200 countries and closed the year 2016 with $ 5.4 billion in revenue, has to disclose to Bloomberg about the matter. Explaining that Blockchain technology has been evaluated for international money transfers, Agrawal said the crypt currency Ripple is in the test phase. Agrawal, on the other hand, stated that the test does not constitute an important part of the company at the moment, but also added that they did not come across anything that would "break ground" in the tests.
Ripple has several partnerships with companies that provide services in the finance sector, and there are already more than 100 financial institutions in its network named RippleNet. Finally, the Chinese company LianLian, who provided payment services for the past week, announced that it joined the RippleNet network and began testing Ripple.
