Nicolas Cage is coming to ‘Dead by Daylight’

Dead by Daylight will shortly include Nicolas Cage. Developer Behavior Interactive said on Twitter that the actor will play in the online survival game with his charming weirdness and a beard a la Billy Mays. “There is nothing more powerful than imagination,” Cage says in the appropriately campy teaser. “It can shape the fabric of reality, transforming everything you may think you know.”

Eurogamer claims that Cage will portray himself as a survivor. According to a brief statement, Nicolas Cage "thought he had seen it all and done it after countless awards and over one hundred movies shot across the globe." "While he was on location filming the role of a lifetime, his performance called forth The Entity, a vile creature with unfathomable power. The actor was quickly cast in the supernatural thriller Fog and was had to survive a horde of killers more horrifying than even the most critical film critic.

It follows a K-Pop singer, Freddy Kreuger, Leatherface, Ash Williams from the Evil Dead, and a CEO from a tech company that supports surveillance as the most recent eccentric or campy addition to the well-known horror game. (There is also, for some reason, a dating-sim add-on.) The creators of the game, who call Cage's cameo "the performance of a lifetime," say we'll learn more about the Oscar winner's contribution on July 5.
