Italian carmaker declassified new futuristic concept
The prototype of the supercar, called Terzo Millennio, was created in cooperation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Carscoops reports . The novelty has received an electric transmission, an ultra-light design and improved aerodynamic characteristics. It is noted that the concept embodies the vision of a car designed for the third millennium.
Terzo Millennio is driven by four electric motors, the total power of which is not disclosed. The manufacturer only noted that the supercapacitor and the kinetic energy recovery system will also be used to power the car.
The body of the concept is completely made of carbon fiber, which is capable of "self-repairing" in case of damage. The new technology, on which Lamborghini and MIT worked together, will independently reveal even small cracks on the bodywork and fill them with "curative chemical substance".
Lamborghini notes that Terzo Millennio is unlikely to enter the series in the foreseeable future, but a number of technologies that the concept demonstrates can be made available in the near future. However, there are no exact dates for the company yet.
