From Rags to Riches - is it possible?

I don't really know where to start - I guess the place would be with who I am.
My name's Sienna and I'm a new user to Steemit.

A really decent dude that I know invited me to this media platform. He suggested that something like this be produced on a means of validity of peoples profiles and agenda's (government based) based on their upvotes. You're probably wondering why the hell I think I matter, and deserve to use a site like this.. I guess this is where my story begins.

I'm 21 years old, studying Electrical Engineering at an Australian University. I am very passionate about my course, and delve into the extensions and pathways it has to offer. I hope in the future, after I graduate to build my career on good morals, and hard work. From here, I wish to build maybe my own company that helps the less fortunate in my national community to further their opportunities after high school in which mostly they're limited by.

I am a girl, I am gay, and have been "out" since I was 13. My parents are divorced, and remarried. I only recently started talking to my father again after three years of silence from him after a bit of a hardship. I earnt my high-schooling with music scholarships, and still have an everlasting yearn for it. I play soccer and I have two cats.

A story... I recently went away with my current partner, to visit her family in a nearby city. A plane ride and car trip later, some tight hugs we arrived. There's more to this story but that's for another post. This one's about why I'm intrigued in Steemit. It started while I was away. My girlfriend's father spent the entire weekend explaining his stock market trading, and I couldn't help but dive into it.

I've decided in the future once I get enough money, that I'm going to invest in stock market trading and this world that is available to me. I am a maths enthusiast and everything about the stock market and trading had me drawn in. The probabilities, the chances, the risks, the intelligence. Once I have enough money saved, I intend to do a course and thus dive into this new opportunity.

My past has been rocky, but I'm not here for a pity party. I will, however, mention that I have moved on from recently being an entrepreneur in the drug business, though I don't wish to enter that world again, the desperacy led me there was validated in my mind. This here is my next attempt at using another pathway to try and earn my living on top of my job and my degree.

I am merely here to see if my hesitancy in the probability of this working is over exaggerated or I'm merely going to be another dud drawn in by the greed for money.
