What is Curation and Author rewards

Hey I saw there is rewards like author and curation..I'm new here and i can't understand what it is about.Any help would be appreciated.

    hey welcome. curation rewards steem for voting on new posts. author rewards for posting new content. the rewards are a share of the post value from other votes.
