Newari culture

Newar was mostly found in Bhaktapur, Kathmandu, Patan. But, they speak Newari language in different style according to their place. They celebrate traditions like Dashain, Tihar, Gaijatra, Ghantakarna, Mahasivaratri, etc. custom and norms.

The different practice like for girl children age of during (4-8) Ihi (Belbibaha), (9-12) Gufa Nikalne (Suryadarsan). In this time, she cannot go out in room up to 12 days the custom to remain inside the room. In this time, relatives and friends have met her and then marriage.

Bratabanda

For the boy children, they do Kyetapuja (Bratabanda) in (8-12) years.

Bhaitika

In Tihar festival, Hindus people can do laxmipuja, mahapuja, and kijapuja(Bhaitika).

Ihipa(Marriage) in Newar culture is social union of two families.
